New Monday challenge hosted by this month's Guest Designer, Amanda Probst!

This week's challenge is brought to us by our fabulous November Guest Designer Amanda Probst!

"My challenge for this week is to create a list of things you're thankful for (this being the month of Thanksgiving and all). I created this layout for my own Lists of Me album that I've been keeping this year. I complete a list each week about random things. This week, it's about things I'm thankful for right now."

Here's Amanda's take on her challenge using the November Paper Posies kit

What an inspiring challenge! I know I can think of alot of things I am really thankful for right now!
We are so pleased to have Amanda designing with us this month! Be sure and check out her amazing artwork in our Design team Gallery and check out her Bio posted here.

For this challenge please use any Paper Posies kits for this week's challenge and upload your creations to the gallery by 11:59PST Sunday, November 15th.

Monday Challenge November 2nd - Alter it!

Oh Happy Day! It's time for another Monday Challenge! This week's challenge is all about altering something simple into something beautiful. Most craft and hobby stores have fantastic wood pieces for only $1! I got this little bird house for just that. Add a little paint, some patterned paper and bling and VOILA!

You've got an adorable altered project to display in your home or craft space.

Now you don't have to alter a bird house like I did, your project can be a picture frame, box, or one of your past Paper Posies alterable kit projects! Since kits are shipping soon you'll have til November 29th to load your project to the November gallery! Have fun! I can't wait to see your projects.

PAINT Challenge - Week of October 26th

Happy Monday, Ladies! I hope this week finds you all ready to participate in yet another FUN Paper Posies challenge!!! I received my inspiration for this weeks challenge while flipping through October's Creating Keepsakes Magazine. I found a layout using PAINT and thought since I'd never tried that before, I'd give it a whirl.

So my challenge to you is to use PAINT on your LO, card, project... Sound like fun?!!!!! I found my paint at Walmart in the crafting section for just 47 cents. So, if you don't have any lying around, there's a good place to try.

Come join us on the message board to participate in the challenge!
Feel free to use ANY Paper Posies kit(s) for this challenge.
Please have your creation(s) posted by 11:59PST Sunday, November 1st.
HAVE FUN!

November sneak

Hi everyone! I've been creating with the November kit and thought I'd throw a little sneak peak out to you. It's absolutely perfect for fall. . . but since I live in Arizona and don't experience too many fall days, I've been using it for vacation and other misc. photos, so don't count those out too!

Here's just a peak of what I finished up last night:

Any guesses as to what you have to look forward to in this kit? It's absolutely gorgeous. If you aren't a subber, be sure and snatch one up when they go on sale, as it's a MUST HAVE!

October kit!

I hope you all have had a chance to dig into your October Paper Posies kits and do a little creating! This kit is perfect for fall layouts and cards, but also works for everyday pictures too! And don't forget about the possibilities with altered projects!

I got a chance to play with the kit a little bit this week and put together this layout. What you may not realize is this picture was taken at Christmas, with the kids standing next to the tree! I was able to crop most of it out and make the photo b&w so it wouldn't be so obvious. :)

Stop on by the message board and gallery and show us what you've been working on! We'd love to see it!

10/12/09 Challenge - all about me!

This weeks challenge is all about a few of MY favorite things! Here's what they are:

1. Journaling Strips. I use journaling strips on A LOT of my pages. It just seems to be a little more interesting than just a big block of paper with writing on it, yet it gives you ample amount of space to journal. AND it doesn't cover up page as much as a journaling block, letting the eye see the flow of the page design better. Also, it's a nice way to use up those small scraps!

2. Border Punches. I am totally in love with border punches right now. I just love the little extra something they give! There are lots of different one to choose from - zig zags, scallops, stamped edge, waves, etc. Fiskars, EK Success and Martha Stewart all make border punches, and I have collected a handful of my favorite ones!

3. Pop Dots. I love a little dimension in my pages, whether that be a few chunkier embellies or pop-dotting a picture or a few embellishments. I mostly use Glue Dot pop dots a lot or the white squares/circles by EK Success.

So, as you may have guessed, the challenge this week is to include my three favorite things on a layout. If you don't have a border punch, just get creative with a border. Do something to it to make it more interesting! Don't forget to use any Paper Posies kit and load your creation to the gallery (and link us here) by next Sunday, October 18th - midnight PST.

Here's a layout with all three of my favorite things to give you a little inspiration. I used the October '09 kit, but added a few items from the September kit. :)

Good luck everyone - and have fun!

Here's the fun part: When you order your kit(s), you will receive step by step instructions, pictures, and ideas in order to quickly and easily complete your calendar(s). Here's the best part: You get to choose whatever paper, embellishments, etc you want to use, specifically picked out for whoever you're planning on giving it to (may I suggest parents, grandparents, grown children, best friends, and of course one for yourself!). I can ship these with your November kits to save on shipping. Depending on how many you order, I will just charge the shipping difference to put everything in a flatrate box ($3).

Doesn't this sound like FUN???!!!!!! I've already got my list started - I know what ALL the grandparents are getting for Christmas this year. hehehe!

I am going to try to place an order by the beginning of next week so that we can have this class the beginning of November. So PLEASE send me an email at info@paperposies.com and give me your preorder by Sunday, October 11th. You don't need to pay for these now, I will charge you when I send them, but I'd like to get a count so I know how many I should order.

Thanks and I'll look forward to hearing from you!

To enter this week's challenge at Paper Posies! This week's challenge is brought to us by September's Guest Designer Jen Buck!

Please create a project using....

1.) ....one, and only one patterned paper. Yup, if you were to get really creative and it was one of this months double sided sheets you could use both sides on your project.

2.) ....two sheets of card stock. You may use two different colored pieces but only two.

3.) ....gems, jewels! ...It's gotta have BLING!

4.) .....NO ribbon! Yikes! You know I LOVE ribbon but not today! Today we are leaving the ribbon on the spool and working without it!

Here's Jen's take on the challenge using the September kit

We hope you'll play along this week and upload your projects to the gallery here. You have til Sunday 9/26 at midnight!!
Be sure and visit Jen's blog for more inspiration! She makes amazing cards and layouts.

Monday challenge posted at Paper Posies

Hi friends! I'm stopping by to tell you about this week's challenge at Paper Posies! We know you've got some scraps left over from all your fabulous layouts so grab that scrap bin and create a card for this week's challenge and find a card making technique that you've never tried before and apply it to the challenge.
I thought it would be fun to try stamping on cork board and created this card with my image.

For my second card I chose a larger stamp from the new Cling line at Hero Arts and added scraps from the September kit I had left over.

I stamped the image on the cork board and sprinkled embossing powder over the image and then heat embossed it. I was also able to color in my image on the cork board easily with regular ink pens. Then I cut out the design. On the large flower I also used glossy accents to add texture. This card took me 20 minutes to create and then about 30 minutes for the glossy accents to dry.

We hope you'll join us for this week's challenge. You can use any Paper Posies kit for the challenges. Upload your cards to the Sept challenges gallery here. Every challenge you complete earns you a ticket that's entered in our monthly challenges drawing. You could win a fun prize from Paper Posies!

September kit ideas

Hi everyone! It's MaryAnn again. Have you all received your September kit? I hope so! Do you love it?

I played with the September kit a little more this last week and have a couple more projects to share with you. I really liked the combination of papers this month and wanted to see if I could use most all of them on this layout. I found a sketch I liked from Ally Cope's So Sketchy blog and knew they'd be perfect for what I was hoping to do!

For this first layout, I used an old picture of my son - he was just barely 4 in this picture and is now 13! The picture had been sitting out since he used it for a school project last May and I kept looking at it, remembering how cute he was! Of course he's a teenager now and although he's still cute, it's just not the same. :) Here it is:

Everything on it is from the September 09 kit except the string, the button and the little heart embellie. I was thrilled I was able to use scraps of all the papers I had left from this kit!

When I made this layout I cut lots and lots of squares to have plenty of options. I hated to see them go to waste. . . I knew a card was in order! I found another sketch I liked from Ally, used my left over squares, added some ink and stitching and wa-laa! I came up with this fun little card!

Thanks for taking a peak at my projects. We'd love to see what you've been doing with this month's kit, so stop on by and share them with us in the gallery. Also, remember that there is ALWAYS a challenge going on, so come on over and play too!

This Weeks' Challenge: Recycle!

For all of you sitting on pins and needles waiting for the reveal of this weeks' challenge, here it is:

Use something recycled in your creation!

Can you spot the recycled items in my layout? I used packaging from July's kit to create the mat behind my photos and the striped, scalloped edge to the left of the photos. I also used a rootbeer bottle cap to create a place to place the date.

I can't wait to see what you come up with! Please use Paper Posies kit(s) for this challenge and make sure to post your creation to the Summer Fun gallery by midnight on Sunday 8/30. Come join us on the Message Board to participate in this challenge!

HAVE FUN! BE CREATIVE!

(P.S. I apologize for the lack of quality in my photo - we lost the charger to the "new" camera and the replacement has not arrived yet, so I had to use the "old" camera.)
